cell wall | the rigid layer of cellulose that protects and supports the plant cell. |
chloroplast | captures energy from the sunlight and uses it to produce food. (photosynthesis) |
reproduction | is the process by which an organism produces others of its same kind. |
animal sexual reproduction | when the reproductive cells of one animal fertilizes the reproductive cell of another. producing a baby. |
plant sexual reproduction | when the reproductive cell of one plant pollinates (fertilizes) the reproductive cells of another plant. this produces seeds that can grow into a new plant. |
asexual reproduction | the process in which something can singularly reproduce. (clone) |
photosynthesis | the process in which a plant cell captures energy from the sun and uses it to make food. |
cellular respiration | a process when cells break down the simple food molecules such as glucose to use the energy that they contain. |
stomata | carbon dioxide enters the plant through the stomata. |
chlorophyll | the main pigment found in plants are chlorophyll. |
