Symbiosis | any relationship in which two species live closely together |
Commensalism | a relationship in which one organism benefits and the other organism is not harmed or helped |
Mutualism | a relationship in which both species benefit |
Parasitism | a relationship in which one organism benefits while the other organism is harmed or hurt |
Direct Observation | count all individuals in an area |
Indirect Observation | count signs of organisms, such as nests |
Variable | factor in an experiment that can change |
Hypothesis | a testable explanation of a situation |
Volume | the amount of space an object takes up |
Mass | the amount of matter in an object (how much of something there is) |

Exponential Growth | when individuals in a population reproduces at a constant rate |
Logistic Growth | when a population's growth rate slows and stops after a period of exponential growth |
