| Fusion | A creation of energy by joining the nuclei of two hydrogen atoms to form helium |
| Solar wind | A stream of electrically charged particles produced by the sun's crona |
| Main sequence | The stage in which stars produce energy through the fusion of hydrogen into helium |
| Convection | The transfer of heat through a gas or liquid by the circulation currents from one region to another |

| Neutron star | May occur when a super giant collapses to a very dense core |
| Corona | The outer layer of the sun's atmosphere |
| Parallax | An apparent shift in the position of an object when viewed from different locations |
| Black hole | An object whose gravity is so strong that nothing can escape, not even light |
| Sun spot | A cooler darker spot appearing periodically on the sun's photosphere |
| Nebula | A large cloud of dust and gas that can break apart into smaller pieces and form stars |
| Doppler effect | An observed change in the frequency of a wave when a source or observer is moving |
