Term | Definition |
Force | Push or pull applied to an object. |
Distance | The length an object travels. |
Constant | Movement that is steady, even, constant or consistent. |
Mass | The unit we use to measure how much matter an object has. |
Gravity | A force that pulls objects to the ground. |
Speed | How fast or slow an object moves. S=D/T |
Balanced Force | Forces that are equal causing an object to remain at rest and not move. |
Inertia | When an object is moving and wants to keep moving or when an object is at rest and wants to stay at rest. |
Friction | Force that pushes against an object causing it to slow down and stop. |
Motion | When an object is moving from one place to another. |
Rest | When an object is not moving or in motion. |
Acceleration/ Deacceleration | The change in speed or direction of an object. |
Unbalanced Force | Forces that are not equal causing an object to move. |
Direction | The path an object travels. Straight, forward, backward. |
Weight | The unit we use to measure the pull of gravity on an object. |
Velocity | The way we can describe how an object is changing speed and direction. |
