Term | Definition |
Vector Quanitity | Quantity represented by an Arrow with both direction and Magnitude.Ex:(velocity and force). |
Scalar Quantity | Quantity represented by magnitude alone(Ex:time,distance) Has no direction. |
Reference Point | A stationary point or thing used to describe position or motion(Ex a Tree). |
Motion | A change in relative to a reference point. |
Position | An Object's distance in a certain direction from a reference point. |
Distance | Total length of path between two points (Scalar Quantity). |
Displacement | Length and direction of a starting line and ending points(Vector Quantity). |
Speed | How Fast an object travels,distance per unit of time(Scalar Quantity) measured in m/s. |
Velocity | Speed AND direction of an object in motion(Vector Quantity). |
Acceleration | Rate of change in velocity(When speed or direction changes)measured in 2 m/s. |
