Disturbed Body Image | The state in which one experiences confusion in the mental picture of one’s physical self |
Chronic Low Self-Esteem or Situational Low Self-Esteem | The state in which an individual experiences or is at risk for experiencing negative self-evaluation about self or capabilities |
Ineffective Role Performance | The state in which an individual experiences or is at risk for experiencing a disruption in the way that individual perceives one’s role performance |
Disturbed Personal Identity | The state in which an individual experiences or is at risk for experiencing an inability to distinguish between self and nonself |
Self - Concept | (self-image) - the mental image or picture of self |
Self - Esteem | the need to feel good about oneself and to believe that others hold one in high regard |
Self - Actualization | the need to reach one’s potential through full development of one’s unique capability |
Identity diffusion | the failure to integrate various childhood identifications into a harmonious adult psychosocial identity, which can lead to disruptions in relationships and problems of intimacy |
Depersonalization | the subjective experience of the partial or total disruption of one’s ego and the disintegration and disorganization of one’s self-concept |
Significance | the way a person feels one is loved and approved of by the people important to that person |
Competence | the way tasks that are considered important are performed |
Virtue | the attainment of moral–ethical standards |
Power | the extent to which a person influences one’s own and others’ lives |

Global self | the composite of all the basic facts, qualities, traits, images, and feelings one holds about oneself |

Role performance | ability to successfully execute societal expectations regarding role-specific behaviors |
