Term | Definition |
Crest | The highest point of a wave. |
Trough | The lowest point of a wave. |
Wavelength | The distance between each wave. |
Frequency | A number of waves that pass a point in a given amount of time. |
Amplatude | The length between the middle to either the crest or trough. |
Transverse Wave | A wave in which the crests or trough move at a right angles to the direction of the waves travel. |
Reflection | the throwing back by a body or surface of light, heat, or sound without absorbing it. |
Refraction | The fact or phenomenon of light, radio waves, etc., being deflected in passing obliquely through the interface between one medium and another or through a medium of varying density. |
Color Spectrum | The bending of light rays as they enter a new medium. |
Light | the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. |
ROYGBIV | Roy G. Biv is an acronym for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colors; the distinct bands are an artifact of human color vision. |
