Model | a system or thing used as in the example. |
Scientific theory | a well-substantiated explanation of the natural world. |
Scientific law | a statement based on repeated experimental observations that describe some aspects of the universe. |
Graph | a diagram showing the relation between variable quantities. |
Horizontal axis | A coordinate system along which the x-coordinate is measured. |
Vertical axis | The axis, usually vertical, along which the ordinate is measured and from which the abscissa is measured. |
Origin | the point or place where something begins or is derived. |
Coordinate | a grid that has two perpendicular lines, or axes,labeled like numbers. |
Line of best fit | a straight line drawn through the center of a group data points plotted on a scattered plot. |
Linear graph | Linear graphs can be sketched or plotted. |
Slope | a surface on which one end or side is at a higher level than another. |
Nonlinear graph | A nonlinear graph is a graph depicted, is not a straight line. |
Qualitative data | Anything that can be expressed as a number. |
Quantitative data | expressing a certain amount,quality, or range. |
