Question | Answer |
hemiplegia | UE and LE spasticity are present only in the L UE/LE or R UE/LE |
diplegia | LE’s are the most involved but the definition actually includes a mild involvement of the UE’s also. One side may be more affected than the other. |
triplegia | 3 extremities affected with essentially one UE left with normal muscle tone. |
quadriplegia | total body is impaired. May initially present with hypotonia. Asymmetrical involvement causes contractures and deformities such as scoliosis and dislocations of the hip. |
