Question | Answer |
What is Newton's First Law of Motion? | An object in rest will stay at rest, a object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted upon an unbalanced force. |
What is inertia? | Resistance to a change in motion, and an object with more mass will have more inertia. |
What is Newton's Second Law of Motion? | Acceleration is produced when unbalanced force act on a mass. |
What is acceleration? | Is a change in speed OR direction of motion. |
What causes acceleration? | An unbalanced force. |
Why does an object eventually stop moving? | Because of friction, without friction the object will continue to move unless there is an object with a bigger mass in front of it. |
Why would an roller coaster need to have a lap bar or shoulder bar. | Because according to Newton's First Law an object in rest will stay in rest, an object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted upon a force. |
What is Newton's Third Law of Motion? | For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. |
What causes an object to move. | Gravity and friction. |
