pineal gland | serves as an alarm clock to the body |
pituitary gland | a tiny structure (about the size of a pea) located at the base of the brain; secretes hormones that control other endocrine glands; the master gland |
placenta | functions as a kidney, lungs and intestines for the unborn baby |
plaque | fatty deposit that restricts blood flow in an artery |
short bones | bones that are usually nearly equal in length and width |
