Renewable resource | Wind, solar and water energy – it will not run out and is clean for the environment |
Nonrenewable resource | Oil, coal, gas- energy sources that will run out eventually and are bad for the environment |
Deforestation | habitat destruction caused by cutting down too many trees |
Acid Rain | occurs when chemicals from factory and car exhaust dissolve in the air and precipitate out later on. |
Invasive Species | an organism that is not native but is brought into a habitat, potentially disruption the ecosystem |
Pollution | any chemical that is released into the environment that can cause harm. |
Ozone Depletion | Chlorofluorocarbons from aerosol cans caused a thinning in the layer of the atmosphere that protects us from the sun’s harmful rays |
Global Warming | Carbon dioxide building up in the earth’s atmosphere is causing the earth to retain more of its heat, slowly changing the climate. |
Over Population | when organisms reproduce too successfully and outgrow their habitat’s available resources. |
