Homologous Structure | Structures that may appear different on the surface, but are internally very similar because they were inherited from a common ancestor |

Comparative Biochemistry | Scientists compare the DNA or proteins of different organisms to determine if they are closely related |
Comparative Embryology | Scientists compare the developing embryos of different species to determine if they are closely related |
