Term | Definition |
hypothesis | A statement of what you think will happen during an investigation. |
observation | Is something you find out about objects, events, or living things by using your senses. |
experiment | Is the use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis. |
variable | Is something that can change in a test. |
control group | The group that doesn't get the special treatments. |
independent variable | Is one that you can control. |
dependent variable | Changes when an independent variable changes.It is what gets measured.It is your data. |
Procedures | Are step-by-step instructions for completing a task. |
Data | Are information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made. |
Precision | Is the ability to make a consistently repeat a measurement. |
Accuracy | Is the ability to make a measurement that is as close to the actual value as possible. |
inference | Is a conclusion based on observations. |
Evidence | Are observations that make you believe that something is true. |
model | Objects or ideas that represent other things. |
survey | Questions that are answered by people.Great for opionion Questions |
Sampling | Examining random individual from a populations. |
Experimental group | The group that gets a special treatment |
