Term | Definition |
Mast Cells | when they sense an enemy they secrete chemicals causing inflammation. That inflammation attracts macrophages which eat the invaders. |
Monocytes | large white blood cells. They move to connective tissue becoming macrophages to destroy invading enemies. |
Leukocytes | white blood cells |
Neutrophil | fast moving immune cells. They are the front line of the immune system; they rush to the site of infection where they kill invaders before dying themselves, of exertion. |
Macrophages | type of white blood cell that eats bacteria as an immune response to infection, aka "big eater". It secretes chemicals warning other white blood cells of invaders. |
