Polaris | The current star to which the north celestial pole of earths points also called the north star |
Latitude | Parallel east to west to the equator measure in degrees north to south |
Longitude | An angular distance to a globe that runs perpendicular north to south of the equator |
Ellipse | An oval shaped closed curve the shape of a planets orbit |
Summer Solstice | The summer solstice occurs when the earth is tilted the most to the sun |
Winter Solstice | Winter solstice is the time in December where the sun is the farthest away from the celestial equator |
Equinox | Either of two times of the year(fall or spring)during a planets orbit when the north and south poles are equidistant from the sun, causing day and night to be equal in length |
