Nucleus | The central and most important part of the cell. |
What are the two types of transports? | Active and Passive transport |
Nuclear Envelope | It surrounds the nucleus and protects it from viruses. |
What does a vacuole contain? | Food, water, and proteins |
Lysosomes | It stores digestive enzymes and breaks them down for the cell. |
Centrioles | These aid in cell division and spindle fibers |
Chloroplast | Takes in light energy and turns it into chemical energy. |
Cell Wall | A more protective wall then the cell membrane and surrounds the cell membrane. |
Golgi bodies | Packages and sends out proteins |
Endoplasmic Reticulum | Tube like transport system "subway" of the cell. |
Ribosomes | It makes proteins for the cell |
Mitochondria | Changes chemicals into energy for the cell. The "powerhouse" of the cell. |
Cytoplasm | Jelly-like fluids that fills the cell |
What is a cell membrane made of? | Lipids (fats) and proteins |
How do substances pass through a cell membrane? | Tiny Gaps form between the fat molecules and allow small substances to pass through. The proteins act as doorways for larger molecules. |
Which type of transport requires energy? | Active Transport |
