Term | Definition |
Constant | Variable that t=stays the same during an experiment. |
Control | Sample that is treated liken other experimental groups exempt that the indecent variable is not applied to it. |
Dependent variable | Factor that is being measured during an experiment. |
Independent variable | Variable that can be changed during an experiment. |
Hypothesis | Prediction or statement that can be tested and may be formed by prior knowledge, any previous observations, and new information. |
Model | Represents something that is too big, too small,too dangerous, too time consuming, or too expensive to observe directly. |
Scientific method | Ways to solve problems that can include step-by-step plans, making models, and carefully thought-out experiments. |
Bias | A slanted view or 1 sided. |
Evidence | Helps prove if something is true or false. |
Observation | The act of noticing or perceiving. |
Experiment | How to test your hypothesis. |
Conclusion | End or answer to the problem you are trying to solve. |
Inference | The process of reasoning. |
Data | Information gathered during experiment, usually found in tables or charts. |
