Term | Definition |
Bias | A slanted line or one side |
Constant | Variable that stay the same during an experiment |
Data | Information gathered during experiment usually, found in tables or chart |
Evidence | Helps prove if something is true or false |
Hypothesis | perdition or statement that can be tested and may be formed by prior knowledge any previous observation and new information |
Inference | The process of reasoning |
Observation | The act of noticing or perceiving |
Conclusion | End or answer to the problem you are trying to solve |
Control | Sample that is treated like the other experimental groups except that the independent variable is not applied to it |
Dependent Variable | Factor that is being measured during an experiment |
Experiment | How you test your hypothesis |
Independent Variable | Variable that can be changed during an experiment |
Model | Represent something that is too big too small too dangerous too time consuming or too expensive to observe directly |
Scientific Method | ways to solve problem that can include step by steep plans making models and carefully thought out experiments |
