Term | Definition |
Ecosystem. | Is all the living and nonliving things in an area and their interactions. |
Habitat. | Is a place that provides all the things an organism needs to live. |
Population. | Is a group of organisms of one species that live in an area at the same time. |
Community. | A community may have populations of oak trees, maple trees, and pine trees. |
Biotic. | Biotic means living. Animals, plants, insects, etc. |
Abiotic. | Abiotic means nonliving. Water, air, sunlight. |
Niche. | The role a living oganisums play in the ecosystem, |
Carrying Compassity. | The number of living things in an area. |
Predator. | The one that hunts and eats other animals |
Prey the one that gets hunted and eaten | |
Producers | make their own food for energy |

Herbivores. | Eat only plants. |
Carnivores. | Eat only other animals. |

Decomposers | Organisms that get their energy by braking down wast and dead organisms. |
Food Changes. | The series of steps showing haw energy moves from biotic factors to another. |
Food Web. | A diagram that shows one direction of the way that the energy moves. |
Symbiosis. | A long term relationship between two organisms. |
Parasites. | An organism that lives in or out of another organism. |
