Element | The ingredients that make up other things that cannot be broken down anymore |
Metals | Good conductors of heat and electricity and can also bend without breaking |
Nonmetals | They do not conduct heat or electricity well and can either be a liquid or a gas |
Semimetals | They are sometimes metals and sometimes nonmetals |
Atom | The smallest part of an element that still has the element's properties |
Atomic Theory | States that everything is made up of atoms |
Compound | Something that is made up of 2 or more elements |

Proton | Has a positive charge |
Neutron | Has a neutral charge |
Electron | Has a negative charge |
Solid | Has a definite shape and volume. Particles are very close together. |
Liquid | Definite volume but no shape. Particles move past each other. |
gas | No definite shape or volume.Particles spread out everywhere. |
Plasma | Like a gas, but conducts electricity like a metal. Occurs with high temps or electricity. |
Melting Point | When solid turns to liquid |
Evaporation | When liquid becomes a gas |
