Plant Cell | The most basic living part of a plant |
Bacteria Cell | The most basic and smallest functional part of bacteria |
Mitochondrion | This part acts like a digestive system for the cell |
Ribosome | Ribosomes make protein for the cell |
Vesicle | Used to transport proteins around the cell |
Nucleus | Use to control the cell and contains the DNA of the cell |
Chloroplast | Makes glucose, a sugar the cell uses to get energy |
Golgi Apparatus | Used for preparation of proteins for their jobs in the cell |
Cell membrane | A cover that is used to protect the cell from outside forces |
Cell wall | Used to protect the cell from viruses |
Cytoskeleton | Proteins that are joined together and help the cell move |
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum | Used to create and store steroids |
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum | Used in the storing of proteins |
Lysosome | Used to digest things in the cell |
Centriole | Used to help the cell when it splits and divides |
DNA | Contains the genetic information about the cell |
Flagellum | The tail on bacterial cell used for moving the cell |
Capsule | The bacterial cell is encased in it |
Prokaryotic Cell | Cells that are not encased by a membrane and are usually multi celled |
Eukaryotic Cell | Cells that are surrounded by a membrane |
Organelles | Parts of a cell with specialized functions |
Unicellular | Has one cell |
Multicellular | Has more than one cell |
Nuclear Membrane | Protects and surrounds the nucleus |
Nuclear Envelope | Keeps the items inside the Nucleus |
Nucleolus | Contains the DNA stored within the Nucleous |
Cell theory | A theory that states All living things are made of cells. Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things. Living cells come only from other living cells. |
