atomic number | the number above the element on the periodic table (same as number of protons) |
chemical equation | chemical symbols used to represent a reaction |
reactants | the original substances before a chemical reaction |

balanced force | a force that has no motion |
unbalanced force | a force that causees an object to be in motion |
Newton's first law | An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion until acted on by an unbalanced force |
Newton's second law | The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied to the object |
Newton's third law | For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction |
speed | speeed is calculated by dividing distance by time |
time | time is calculated by dividing distance by speed |
distance | distance is calculated by multiplying speed by time |

absolute magnitude | how bright a star actually is |
apparent magnitude | how bright a star looks |
