position | describes the location of an object. |
reference point | is a location to which you compare other locations |
motion | is a change in position over time |
speed | an object is a measure of how far something moves in a givin amount of time |
vector | is a quantity that has both size and direction |
velocity | is speed in a specific direction |
acceleration | the rate where velocity changes |
centripetal acceleration | acceleration in circular motion |
force | simply push or pull |
net force | combination of all forces acting on an object |
interia | the tendency of all objects to resite a change in motion |
gravity | a force of attraction between objects due to their mass |
free fall | when gravity pulls it down and no other forces are acting on it |
orbit | when it travels around another object in space |
