Term | Definition |
The Water Cycle | The continual movement of water amoung Earth's atmosphere, oceans, and land surface through evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. |
Precipitation | Any form of water that falls from clouds and reaches the Earth's surface. |
Groundwater | Water that fills the cracks and spaces in underground soil and rock layers. |
Evaporation | The process in which water molecules in liquid water escape into the air as water vapor. |
Condensation | The process by which molecules of water vapor in the air become liquid water. |
Water Vapor | Water in the form of a gas. |
Conservation | The practice of using less of a resource so that it will not be used up. |
Freshwater | Water that has no salt in it. |
Saltwater | Water that contains salt. |
