What is rotation mean? | The spin of a body on its axis |
What does revelation mean? | The motion of a body as it travels around another body in space (one complete trip along an orbit) |
What does ellipse mean? | An elongated (oval) circle, the shape of planetary orbits |
What is gravity? | The force that is affected by the mass and the distance between 2 bodies as described by Newton (supports Kepler's law that planets closer to the sun move faster) |
What is inertia? | Newton's 1st Law of Motion; a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest until acted upon by an outside force |
What does equinox mean? | Time when the sun is directly above the equator |
What does solstice mean? | Point at which the sun is as far North or as far South of the equator as possible |
