Mutation | Any permanent change in a gene of chromosome of a cell. |
Haploid | Describes cells that do not have pairs of chromosomes. |
Diploid | Describes cells that do have pairs of chromosomes. |
Mitosis | The process in which the nucleus divides to form two identical nuclei. |
Sperm | Cells formed in the males reproduction organs. |
Sexual Reproduction | Type of reproduction when two sex cells, usually and egg and a sperm, come together. |
Gene | A section of DNA ( on a chromosome ) where instructions for making specific proteins are found. |
Chromosomes | A structure in the nucleus that contains hereditary materials. |
Asexual Reproduction | Type of reproduction when a new organism ( sometimes more than one ) is production that has hereditary material identical to the parent organism. |
DNA | The code that forms when an egg and a sperm join. |
RNA | A type pf nucleic acid that carries the codes for making proteins from the nucleus to the ribosomes. |
Zygote | A process by which haploids sex cells are produced. |
Egg | Cells formed in the female reproductive organs which contain stored food along with other cell parts. |
Fertilization | THe joining of an egg and sperm. |
Meiosis | Produces Haploid sex cells. |
