how long does spinal shock last and how will you know when it has resolved? | hours to months, when return of the bulbospongiosis (bulbocavernosus) and anal reflexes occur |
What causes neurogenic/vasogenic shock? | hypotension, bradycardia (loss of sympathetic influence on vessels) |
What do injuries to C4-T6 indicate? | paralysis of intercostals and some abdominal muscles (aggressive pulmonary care) |
What do injuries to T7-T12 indicate? | paralysis of some abdominal muscles (moderate pulmonary care) |
What is done for pulmonary hygiene? | Quad coughing (manual assisted), coughaltor (+ and - breaths that mimic coughing), and suctioning |
