Question | Answer |
Humidity | Water vapor in the air. |
Saturation | When the air contains as much water vapor as it possibly can. Warm air can hold more water vapor than cold air. |
Relative Humidity | A comparison between the amount of water vapor in the air and the amount of water vapor needed to saturate the volume of air. |
Condensation | The process by which water vapor cools down to become a liquid. |
Evaporation | The process by which liquid water becomes a gas called water vapor. |
Dew | a thin layer of tiny drops of water |
Water Vapor | evaporated water in the air in the form of a gas, you can not see it. |
Condensation Nuclei | small particles on which water vapor can condense; dust, smoke, tiny salt crystals... |
Dew Point | the temperature at which the air is fully saturated and dew will form |
The Water Cycle | (hydrologic cycle) the continuous movement of water between the surface of the earth (lakes, oceans, rivers, dew, puddles...) and the troposphere (layer of gas closest to the Earth's surface). |
Transpiration | when water vapor is released into the air from leaves of plants |
Precipitation | Water that falls from the atmosphere in the form of rain, snow, sleet, hail, freezing rain |
