Question | Answer |
Element | Is a substance that cannot be broken down into other substances. |
Symbol | Each element is given a symbol which is usually derived into the first or first two letters of the element’s name. |
Periodic Table | Elements have been organized by its properties and put into the periodic table. |
Metals | are solid at room temperature, often shiny and can conduct electricity and heat well. |
Malleable | Can be hammered into shape. |
Ductile | Can be drawn into wires. |
Alloys | Mixture of metals to make a stronger metal. |
Non-Metals | is a group of seventeen elements with the exception of hydrogen in group 1, appears at the far right of the periodic table. Eleven of these are gases at room temperature. |
Metalloids | Have properties between metals and non-metals. |
Compounds | Are substances made out of two or more different kinds of elements |
Chemical Reaction | Help create a compound |
Chemical Formula | Represents compounds |
Atoms | Small particles which make up matter. |
