(hemo)dialysis | procedure to mechanically filter and remove waste products from the blood of a patient in renal failure |
catheterization | procedure in which a catheter (flexible tube) is placed in the bladder to drain the urine |
nephrectomy | surgical removal of a kidney |
lithotripsy | procedure that uses sound waves to break up a kidney stone |
