6-10 y/o rxn to loss | play death and funeral, shyness, act out, grades may suffer (or school is safe zone). give lots of attention, involvement, answer questions.

age 11-teens rxn to loss | anger, feels not fair, guilty, scared, macho, turn to friends, act out, spiritual searching. talk openly to them, encourage confiding in trusted adult, give affection, journaling, drawing.
