Strato | Layered clouds. added to cloud words to describe a blanketed cloud, that is low in the sky.

Nimbus | Means rain. added to cloud words, when dark and heacy looking.

Cumulo | A heaped cloud. Can be combined with nimbus. (cumulonimbus). cumulonimbus means strong thunderstorms coming.

Stratus | Low clouds that hang in sheets like a blanket. Rain or snow might be coming.

Cirrus | Wispy and feathery. high in the elevation, and can mean a storm.
