Question
Answer
What is a cell wall and what is it's function?   A cell wall is a rigid layer of non-living material that surrounds the cell of plants and some other organizms. It's function helps protect and support the cell.
🗑
What is a cell membrane and what is it's function?   A cell membrane is another layer of protection for the cell. It's function is to control what substances come into and out of the cell.
🗑
What is the cells nucleus' function and why us it so important?   A nucleus is the "brain" of a cell. It's important because the cell wouldn't work without it.
🗑
What is the cytoplasm? What is it like?   A cytoplasm is the region is the region between the cell membrane and the nucleus. It is a gel like fluid.
🗑
What is the function of the endoplasmic reticulum?   The endoplasmic reticulum's passage ways carry proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another.
🗑
What is the function of the mitochondia?   The mitochondia's function is to convert energy into food molocules to energy the cell can use to carry out it's functions.
🗑
Where are ribosomes found? What is their functions?   Ribsosomes are attached to some of the surfaces of the endoplasmic reticulum. They function as factories to produce proteins.
🗑
What is the function of the golgi body?   The golgi body receives proteins and other newly formed materials from the endoplasmic reticulum, packages them, and distrubutes them to other parts in the cell.
🗑
Where can chroloplasts be found? What is their function?   Chloroplasts can be found floating in the cytoplasm. Their function is to capture energy from sunlight and use it to produce food for the cell.
🗑
Where are vacuoles found? What is their function?   Vacuoles are also found floating in the cytoplasm. Vacuoles are the storage areas of the cells.
🗑
What are lysosomes? What is their function?   Lysosomes are small round structures containing chemicals that break down certain materials in the cell.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
