---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cell Membrane | A membrane that separates the inside of the cell from it's surroundings.
🗑
Cytoplasm | A gooey substance inside the cell made of organelles, water and other materials.
🗑
Nucleus | Controls all activities in a cell and holds the DNA.
🗑
Chloroplast | Makes chemical energy by trapping energy from the sun and changing it.
🗑
Cell Wall | A layer of rigid, tough material that surrounds the plant cell and gives it a box like shape.
🗑
Mitochondria | Produce energy by cellular respiration.
🗑
Golgi Body | sorts proteins and makes them into vesicles.
🗑
Vesicles | Function like a mail system. Carrying proteins, nutrients and water into, out of and around the cell.
🗑
Endoplasmic Reticulum (E.R.) | A group of membrane covered channels. Can be rough or smooth. E.R.s have ribosomes all over them.
🗑
Ribosomes | Small thing that make proteins. They float around the cell or attach to the E.R.
🗑
Vacuoles | Compartments that sometimes store waste and are large in plant cells and small in animal cells.
🗑
Lysosome | Contain chemicals that break down food particles, cell waste and worn out cell parts.
🗑
Diffusion | The movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
🗑
Osmosis | The diffusion of water molecules through a selectively permeable membrane,
🗑
Concentration | The amount of a substance in a given space.
🗑
Selectively Permeable Membrane | Allows some materials to pass through, but keeps other materials out.
🗑
5 characteristics of living things | 1. Respond to environment
2. Need energy
3. Grow
4. Reproduce
5. Get rid of waste

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
