Axis   the second cervical vertebrae characterized by a short protrusion known as the odontoid process or the dens

Thoracic Vertebrae   12 vertebrae that occur below the cervical spine

Lumbar Vertebrae   5 vertebrae that support the weight of the body

Sacral Vertebrae   the fusion of five vertebrae posterior to the pelvis

Coccygeal Vertebrae   tailbone; composed of four rudimentary vertebrae

Rib Cage   composed of the sternum, the dorsal aspect of the 12 thoracic vertebrae, and the 12 ribs

Syndesmosis   indicates a fibrous joint where the ligaments provide the stability

Valsalva Maneuver   an invlountary action that occure during activities such as defecation, child birth, lifting, vomiting, and sneezing
