Comminuted fracture | Bone breaks into many fragments.
(common in brittle bones)

Compression fracture | Bone is crushed.
(common in porous/osteoporotic bones)

Depressed fracture | Broken bone is pressed inward. (e.g. pushed in skull fracture)

Impacted fracture | Broken bone ends are forced into each other. (e.g. when arms are outstretched to break one's fall)

Spiral fracture | Ragged break due to twisting forces on the bone. (common sports fracture)

Greenstick fracture | Incomplete break, one side of bone unbroken, much like the way a green twig breaks. (common in the flexible bones of children)
