Pelvic   Between hip bones & interior to horizontal plane between the superior ridges of the hip bones. Associated w/ pelvic viscera: urinary bladder & urethra, internal reproductive organs, some of the large intestine. S. Membrane: Peritoneum.

Serous membranes   Consist of a continuous 2-layered sack. The visceral layer covers organs. The parietal layer lines the body cavity. Contains lubricating film of serous fluid to reduce friction.
