photosynthesis   is the process in plants through which light, energy, water, and carbon dioxide are converted to food and oxygen.

nutrients   are substances in food that provide energy and material for growth.

minerals   are types of nutrients fornd in nature that are NOT plants or animals. They are formed by natural processes.

pollination   the transfer of pollen from stamen (male) to the stigma (female).

cloroplast   an organelle in a plant cell that turns energy from the sun into chemical energy for the food to use.

stomata   pores on the surface of a plant that allows gases to move into and out of the plant.
