| composite | material that combines two or more materials
🗑
| conductivity | measurement of how well electricity flows through a material
🗑
| destructive material test | test that destroys a material or somehow makes a material unusable
🗑
| flammability | ease with which a material will ignite
🗑
| materials engineering | understanding and modification of the structure and properties of materials to improve the performance and processing of the material
🗑
| metal | a solid material that is typically hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile, with good electrical and thermal conductivity
🗑
| nanotechnology | design of a new material and devices at the scale of a nanometer
🗑
| nanowire | small strand of material that ranges 1 nm-60 nm in width
🗑
| plasticity | deformation that occurs from the yield point to the fracture points
🗑
| radiography test | test that uses x-rays that pass through the material
🗑
| shear stress | bending or twisting force, like the stress that occurs when using a wrench
🗑
| stress | amount of force or load that is applied to a material
🗑
| tensile strength | ability of a material to withstand a force that pulls the material apart
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
