| Step 7 | Support the upper leg and thigh with pillows.

| Step 8 | Place a pillow against the resident’s back.

| Step 9 | Place a small pillow under the upper hand and arm. Provide for comfort.

| Step 10 * | Raise side rail. Lower bed. Lower side rail. Attach signal light within resident’s reach.

| Step 11 | Perform hand hygiene and report & record observations.
