Definition
hypothesis   A tentative explanation a scientist proposes for a specific phenomenon that has been observed. It must be testable.

independent variable   The variable that the experimenter manipulates or changes.

dependent variable   The variable that changes as a result of the test.  
🗑
accuracy   The extent to which a measurement agrees with the standard value for that measurement. (bullseye)

precision   Degree to which repeated measurements under unchanged conditions show the same results.  
🗑
scientific evidence   Data or observations which can support or refute a scientific theory or hypothesis.  
🗑
qualitative data   Descriptive data that can be observed, but not measured; such as color, texture, smell, taste, etc.

quantitative data   Numerically based data that can be measured; such as length, height, mass, temperature, etc.  
🗑
constants   Variables that must stay the same throughout the experiment/test.  
🗑
control group   The sample or group that is not getting the experimental treatment.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
 
To hide a column, click on the column name.
 
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
