| Why do we have seasons? | Seasons are the result of the Earth's tilted axis and the rotation around the sun. The Earth's distance from the sun is always the same.

the sun. The Southern hemisphere is experiencing summer.

| What degree is the Earth tilted at? | The Earth’s axis is TILTED 23.5 degrees

| Calendar | a system of organizing time that defines the beginning , length, and divisions of a year.

| Solstice | either of the two days of a year on which the sun reaches its greatest distance north or south of the equator.

| Equinox | When the sun is farthest north or south of the equator.

| Why is it generally warmer near the equator than it is near the poles? | Near the equator, sunlight hits Earth's surface directly from almost overhead. Near the poles, sunlight is indirect and arrives at a steep angle. As a result, it is warmer near the equator and colder near the poles.

| The shortest of the year in the Northern Hemisphere occurs on December 21, Why does the coldest day of the year occur in February ? | It takes time for the Earth to cool from the warmer months.

| What causes Earth to have days and nights? | The movement/spinning of Earth on its axis.
