Life   Life is defined as the possession of the following characteristics: organisation, requiring nutrition and excretion, capable of reproducing and responding.

Metabolism   The sum of the chemical reactions in a living thing.

Continuity of Life   Living things arise from other living thing of the same type.

Organisation   Living things are composed of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems.

Nutrition   The way in which an organism obtains and uses its food.

Excretion   The removal of the waste products of metabolism from the body.  
🗑
Reproduction   The formation of new individuals.  
🗑
Sexual Reproduction   The union of two sex cells (gametes).  
🗑
Asexual Reproduction   Does not require the union of two sex cells.  
🗑
Response   The way in which an organism reacts to changes in its enviroment.
