allele | A different from a gene may or have for a trait.
🗑
genetics | The science of how traits are inherited through alleles passed from one generation to another.
🗑
dominant | The form of a trait that appears to dominate ar mask another form of the same trait.
🗑
recessive | The form of a trait that seems to dissappear in a population but can reeapper depending on the way the alleles combine.
🗑
Punnet Square | A tool that shows how genes combine; used to predict the problability of types of offspring.
🗑
genotype | The genetic makeup of an organism for a trait.
🗑
homozygous | An organism that has two identical alleles for a trait.
🗑
heterozygous | An organism that has two different alleles for a trait.
🗑
phenotype | A physical trait that shows as a result of an organisms's particular genotype.
🗑
incomplete inheritance | The production of a phenotypee in an offspring that is intermediate to the phenotypes of its two homozygous parents.
🗑
multiple alleles | Having more than two alleles that control a trait.
🗑
polygenic inheritance | It occurs when groups of gene pairs act together to produce a specific trait.
🗑
sex- linked gene | An allele inherited on a sex chromosome.
🗑
pedigree | A diagram that shows the occurence of a trait in a family.
🗑
genetic engineering | Biological and chemical methods to change the cells DNA sequence to produce desirable traits or eliminate undesirable traits.
🗑
genome | A map of the location of individual genes of every chromosome of an individual.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
