Individuals with Disabilities Act Amendments of 1997, Public Law 105-17   expanded the definition of disability by including children with developmental delay between ages 3-9.Established the office of special education programs. Provided every eligible child with a IEP or IFSP. Placed students in their LRE.

Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Act of 2004, Public Law, 108-446   Provided funding for research on universal design, access to television, provided videos and new technologies to people with disabilities.

Americans with Disabilities Act, Public Law 101-336 (1990)   Provided people with disabilities equal access to services of private agencies, access to public programs and activities, and reasonable accommodations in the workplace.

No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Pub. L. No. 107-110   All students' achievement was assessed using grade level standards based assessments. Schools must maintain AYP-adequate yearly progress. Also, it established the goal that all students would reach proficiency within twelve years.

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, Pub. L. No. 11-148   Persons with a pre existing condition could not be denied medical coverage. It also expanded community based living arrangements through the "Community First Choice Option"
