        Help!

Term
Definition
cell cycle   life span of a cell. Begins when a cell is formed and ends when the cell divide to form a new cell.
🗑
DNA   the hereditary material that controls all cell activities including the making of new cells.
🗑
chromosome   DNA in a cell is organized into these. Copying chromosomes in cell division ensures an exact copy of the parent.
🗑
binary fission   cell division in bacteria or prokaryotic single celled organisms.
🗑
Homologous chromosomes   Chromosomes that have the same sequence of genes and the same structure. Lined up in pairs.
🗑
Phases of Eukaryotic Multicellular Cell Cyle   Interphase, Mitosis, and Cells split into to two cells
🗑
chromatids   During interphase, the cell grows and copies its organelles and chromosomes. The two copies are known as this
🗑
Centromere   Chromatids are held together at this region.
🗑
Mitosis   in eukaryotic multicellular cells, a process of cell division that forms two new nuclei each which has the same number of chromosomes
🗑
Four Stages of Mitosis (not including Interphase and Cytokinesis)   Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase
🗑
Cytokinesis   the division of the cytoplasm of a cell

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
