Question
Answer
Semipermeable   Allows certain substances to cross over a membrane.
🗑
Permeable   Allows all substances to cross over a membrane.
🗑
Photosynthesis   The process a plant uses to gain energy: Water + Sun + Carbon Dioxide = Oxygen and Energy
🗑
Glucose   Simple sugar (C6H12O6)
🗑
Cellular Respiration   The process that animals use to gain energy: Oxygen + Food (glucose) = Carbon Dioxide, Water, and APT (Energy)
🗑
Mitochondria   The organelle that makes the energy for the cell- The place where cellular respiration occurs.
🗑
Chloroplast   The organelle in a plant cell where photosynthesis occurs.
🗑
Fermentation   The lack of oxygen when energy is being used.
🗑
Diffusion   Movement of substances from high to low (membrane or no membrane)
🗑
Osmosis   Movement of WATER from high to low with a semipermeable membrane.
🗑
Passive Transport   Does NOT use energy when bringing substances into a cell.
🗑
Active Transport   Uses energy to bringing substances into a cell.
🗑
Endocytosis   Surrounds a particle or substance and forms a vesicle to bring into the cell.
🗑
Exocytosis   Releasing substances or particles from the cell.
🗑
DNA   Controls the cells activities.
🗑
Chromosomes   Where your DNA is organized.
🗑
Mitosis   Process where a single cell divides twice to produce two identical daughter cells.
🗑
Meiosis   Process where a single cell divides to produce four cells with 1/2 the original genetic info. Sex Cells.
🗑
Interphase   Phase 1- Chromosomes are copied.
🗑
Prophase   Phase 2- Nuclear membrane dissolves and starts to move to opposite poles, nucleus begins to disappear.
🗑
Metaphase   Phase 3- Chromosomes are lined up, homologous or save chromosomes pair up, centrioles are on opposite poles.
🗑
Anaphase   Phase 4- Chromatids separate and move to opposite sides of the cell.
🗑
Telophase   Phase 5- Nuclear membrane reforms, cytokinesis starts.
🗑
Cytokinesis   The separating of two cytoplasm's to make two cells.
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
