---|---|---|---|---|---|
Settling Rate | The speed of the process by which particulates settle to the bottom of a liquid and form a sediment.
🗑
Particle Size | A notion introduced for comparing dimensions of solid, liquid, or gaseous particles.
🗑
Hydrodynamic | Pertaining to forces in or motions of liquids.
🗑
Particle Density | Density of material that particles are composed of or the average number of parties in unit volume or unit area.
🗑
Horizontal Sorting | A form of graded bedding that occurs at the bottom of a body of water. The principle says that smaller colloids (particles) settle farther in the strata while larger particles settle closer to the source of the water.
🗑
Graded Bedding | One characterized by a systematic change in grain or class size from the base of the bed to the top. Most commonly this takes the form of normal grading, with coarser sediments at the base, which grade upward into progressively finer ones.
🗑
Vertical Sorting | The tendency of sediment to separate according to size and weight as it deposits. A cut-section of a vertically sorted deposit shows the largest, heaviest stones on the bottom layer, medium-sized stones in the middle and lightest sediment on top.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
