Definition
Lipids   Any of a group of organic compounds, including the fats or oils. These are used for long-term storage of energy

Substrate   The substance on which an enzyme acts. Each enzyme has a specific substrate that it fits. Just like a key only fits one lock

Proteins   Molecules that are made of amino acids and are used to make tissues in the body.

Carbohydrates   Molecules that give the body quick energy. An Example = Sugar

Amino Acids   The building blocks of proteins.

Enzymes   A substance produced by the body that helps to speed up a reaction. For Example - these help the body digest food faster.
